There are countless island destinations in the world known for their parties, and each one has its own specific character and appeal. Summer is quickly approaching and, for us, there’s nothing better than kicking back on a stunning sandy beach with a bunch of friends, taking in the beautiful scenery and dancing the night away. Chartering a boat and sailing past gorgeous coastline from party island to beach bar is one of our favourite summer experiences. But, how do you know which party island is right for you? Some are famous for their round-the-clock beach parties and some are known for their exclusive beach clubs.

10. Ios, Greece
Ios, one of the Cyclades islands in Greece, is known for its beautiful beaches and wild nightlife. During the summer, people from all over the world flock to Ios to experience its white sandy beaches and dance the night away under glorious orange sunsets. The streets, houses and restaurants of Ios have that relaxed, distinctly Greek vibe, but its many bars, nightclubs and summer festivities are known as some of the craziest in the world, including Aftershock, Slammer Bar, Flames Bar, Sweet Irish Dream, Disco 69, Blue Note and Scorpion Nightclub. Only a short sail from Lefkas, the stunning beaches of Ios are popular year-round popular destinations, the hottest being Mylopotas beach, where the renowned Far Out Beach Club lies.
9. Magaluf, Mallorca
Located on Mallorca’s sunny west coast, and only a two-hour flight from the UK, Magaluf has attracted visitors from all over the world looking for an awesome island to let loose on. Magaluf sits in the bay of Palma and boats the largest nightclub in Europe, BCM Planet Dance, along with dozens of other top notch venues, including Bananas, Boomerang and Carwash.
Over the years, ‘the strip’, in Magaluf, has attracted some of the world’s top DJs, with clubs remaining open until the early hours of the morning regularly hosting popcorn and foam parties.
8. British Virgin Islands
The BVI’s are a hidden treasure in the Caribbean, with some of the most secluded party islands in the world. In this accumulation of islands, you’ll find world-class beaches and peaceful resorts, along with beach bars and nightlife that will keep you entertained into the early hours of the morning. Start off sailing in Tortola and make your way over to Peter Island for a night out on the town. Then, sail over to Norman Island and explore the famous caves and head over to Willie T. for body shots! Next, hop on over to Jost Van Dyke Island, home of Soggy Dollar Bar, Gertrudes and Ivan’s Stress Free Bar.
7. Ayia Napa, Cyprus
For the last decade, Ayia Napa has been famous for its growing party atmosphere and the fantastic Nissi beach. Ayia Napa is situated just a short distance from Fethiye in Turkey, and here you’ll find a range of bars and nightclubs to suit all tastes – there are over 250 in total! Clubbing here is firmly focused around the wild Napa Square, where you can experience everything from dance and R&B to disco and house beats.
Ayia Napa has 12 main clubs, with two staying open till breakfast time. Some of the most popular include Aqua, Carwash Disco, Castle, Starskys, River Reggae and the Makronissos Beach Club.
6. Pag, Croatia
Pag is the fifth-largest Croatian island and sits in the northern Adriatic Sea. Pag is home to the legendary Hideout Festival and, as of 2007, the bars and clubs of Zrce beach, near Novalja, were granted 24-hour licences, so Pag is now known as one of Croatia’s hottest party destinations. Open-air clubs like Papaya and Aquarius are famous throughout Europe and, if you like big summer parties with famous DJs, you’ll probably get hooked dancing the night away at one of these. Charter a boat from Zadar and sail on up to the port of Mandre, then hit the famous Zrce beach, known around the world as one of the best beaches for summer parties.
Not only is Pag the home of Hideout Festival, there are a number of other awesome festivals on Zrce beach during the summer, such as the Fresh Island Festival and Love Week, so, depending on which week you book, you might even get to experience one of the world’s best beach festivals.
